Perth YP

As a young tech company, we have very many young professionals that make up our awesome team here at Applabs. We learn and grow together everyday.

So a few of us decided to meet some other young professionals in other industries by attending our first Perth YP’s networking event, which coincidentally, is their last event for the year! It was held on the terrace at Rydges Hotel on Hay St – a cosy location for just under 100 people.

‘Perth Young Professionals Inc. (PerthYP) is an exclusive, incorporated not-for-profit association for young professionals establishing their careers. We provide regular opportunities for like-minded Millennials who wish to expand their social and business networks, and to hear from and network with industry and community leaders. A free association to join, PerthYP brings together Gen Y professionals from various industries and sectors across Western Australia through regular and engaging events.’ — Perth YP

Guest speaker Gavin Bains, MD of Meerkats, a thriving advertising agency located in Perth, graced us with his inspiring words of his career and the steps he took to get to where he is today. His talk was refreshing as he touched on the 6 lessons he had learnt over the years.

We were pleased to have met so many other young professionals, some of those were in the pharmacology industry as well as IT and even in construction. There were too many people and not enough time to go around and meet everyone in the room, but that just means we’ll have to be at the next PerthYP event!

Thank you PerthYP for the successful networking event – we will see you next time :)
